Shorts; a New YouTube Feature Set to Rival TikTok

According to a recently released report, YouTube is currently working on a new feature that would, eventually, rival TikTok videos.

This feature will, basically, give users the ability to upload long and short funny, innovative and creative videos for the pleasure of others.

This new feature has been named Shorts and there is a high probability that, it might be released before the end of this year 2020.

The report, also, stated that the new feature will be part of the YouTube mobile app that will be in the form of a unique feed that will comprise short video clips uploaded by users.

The primary aim of this feature is to challenge the up-rise dominance of TikTok and give YouTube users, greater experience.

Users will, also, have access to thousands of licensed music and songs that can be used, by a content developer to make content.

As at now, there is no official report from YouTube to back this report up, but there is a high probability that, an official statement will be released when this feature is ready to be launched.

This would not be the first time a Google-owned app, will try to overshadow competitors and create things similar to what their competitors provide, an example being YouTube’s Instagram-like stories feed for creators to post photos and content.

Users will have a lot to look out for, due to the fact that, this new feature will be incorporated into the YouTube app and how it will, eventually, strike a balance, in both long and short-form videos.

Although, some tech enthusiasts are a little bit pessimistic about the possibility of this happening, but the chances of it is, somewhat high.

If this feature is, eventually, released before the end of this year, it will be really interesting to see.

People need to keep their minds busy and perhaps this feature is coming at the right time.
