Paga, one of Nigeria’s mobile money platform, recently announced its partnership with Remita, a leading payment platform in Nigeria, to enable the Federal Government bill payment facility, readily available to all Paga customers.
The first phase of the partnership is to empower Paga’s customers, in easily initiating and completing payment, through Paga’s web platform, or agent network to all Remita merchants and billers.
This would ensure that Paga’s agents, across the country, would be able to make end-to-end payments for Paga’s customers on its agent platform.
The collaboration would see that a deeper partnership is formed within the fintech ecosystem, therefore making e-payments more enticing and less challenging for customers.
Jay Alabraba, Co-founder and Director of Business Development, Paga said, that the purpose of the collaboration with Remita is to make payments easier, for all Nigerians and businesses.
“Our goal is to always provide an improved experience to our customers everywhere, by leveraging digital technology.
This collaboration would further help us meet the needs of individuals, who seek to make various bill payments, including those in emerging markets”, Alabraba stressed.
“At SystemSpecs, we are committed to driving financial inclusion and providing convenience to customers everywhere, especially, through strategic partnerships, with key industry stakeholders that would facilitate easier access to a wide range of financial services and solutions, from anywhere and at any time”, explained Ezinne Obikile, Executive Director, Infrastructure and Payment Gateway, SystemSpecs, on the partnership of Remita with Paga.
The impact of the partnership is that, Nigerians can easily and quickly generate Remita’s Retrieval Reference, (RRR), pay into the Treasury Single Account of the Federal Government and also, paying to State Governments and Tertiary institutions, through Paga’s Agents and consumer channels on Remita.
