WhatsApp dark mode is now available for beta version users
Not yet available for stable version users
WhatsApp beta on Android phones would soon get new versions (2.20.31) through the Google Play Beta Programme.
According to WABetaInfo the WhatsApp features tracker, the new beta version will include new solid colour options.
A major change expected to be seen in this latest beta version is the WhatsApp dark mode introduced in January in the beta version.
The Beta version would allow WhatsApp Users to run other colours other than black while on the dark theme. Six solid colours have been made available for use.
It appears that when the WhatsApp dark mode would have more details with quality features by the time it will be officially made available to users on the stable version.
For OLED screen phones, the dark theme would assist in conserving the battery while the other colours won’t have any effect on the battery.
Compared to a white theme, the dark mode will be easier and safer to use for the eye in situations of low light.
You can register for the Google Play Beta programme to check out the new version of the beta mode.
The Facebook-owned company had removed the Set By Battery Saver option from the last beta version to enable the use of dark themes on phones operating on Android 9 version or below
However, no available information yet on when the iPhone users would get their own dark theme for WhatsApp beta.
So also no words yet on when it will be available on the stable version for both iPhone and Android users.
