The Honorable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, yesterday, Thursday, September 10, 2020, officially, commissioned the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC’s Emergency Communications Centre, (ECC), in Owerri, Imo State.
The provision of the Emergency Commissions Centre project was commenced to offer Nigerians, the opportunity to dial 112 toll-free National Emergency Number, with a view to getting help, in case of any emergencies, from appropriate response agencies, at Federal and State levels.
The Minister was accompanied by the Chairman, Prof. Adeolu Akande, Chairman, NCC Board of Commissioners; Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, NCC; Kashifu Abdullahi, Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency.
(NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi; Chief Uche Onwude Member, NCC Board of Commissioners and other Senior Management and staff of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.
The Minister and his team had, earlier paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, at the Government House, Owerri, before the Commissioning of the ECC project was carried out.
The security of lives and properties, which is paramount in the agenda of the current administration of his Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, is at the forefront of Commission the Emergency Communications Centres, across the 36 States of the Federation.
