[Closing Soon] IEEE NICHE Startup Challenge, $10, 000 up for Grabs

IEEE R8 Entrepreneurship NICHE (Nigeria Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurs) is now receiving applications.

Pitch on NICHE premier startup competition to win $10,000 and other perks.

Free to apply and free to pitch if selected. NICHE applicants may be contacted for Incubation in Hubs and Startup opportunities if eligible.

Take your ideas, project and startup to the next level with this exciting program which is for open for both IEEE members and non-IEEE members to gain new entrepreneurial and innovative skills.

The NICHE program is aimed to foster entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to solve a real-world problem by creating a prototype and a business plan to implement it.

NICHE is designed to encourage founders in identifying a problem in a nearby or faraway community and providing a tangible solution.

The first part of the challenge consists of making a prototype that can solve the problem you’ve pinpointed, and the second part requires you to generate a business proposal on how you will turn your idea into a company.

Interested participants are expected to register online and undergo a mentoring program via slack.

At the end of the mentoring, participants can enter for the pitch competition to win cash prizes and other perks.

The IEEE R8 Entrepreneurship NICHE mentoring will include the following topics:

  • Business Model Canvas
  • Marketing
  • Pitching
  • Product Design
  • Growth
Who can apply?
  • Entrepreneurs who have post MVP of not more than 2years
  • Idea hobbyist and innovators
  • Undergraduate and graduate students working on exciting school projects are encouraged to apply as there are special cash award categories for students.

Interested participants who have satisfied the eligibility for participation are required to register through the NICHE  website via slack.

The deadline for the challenge application is Sunday, November 10, 2019.
