How They Pitched: Flutterwave

How they pitched is a series that highlights the beginnings of companies. It is designed to be a resource for teams that are looking at creating their own pitch deck, or, who want to learn how to present their ideas to audiences, including potential investors.

What we do, is to curate all the pitches from a particular product, then, share it with the world. Today, we are looking at Flutterwave, the company building payment infrastructure to connect Africa to the global economy.

About Flutterwave

In 2016, Quartz reported that Andela’s Co-Founder was leaving the company to co-found Flutterwave. In less than 2 years Flutterwave has raised a total of $20.1 million in 5 rounds of funding.

On August 11, 2016, the first video pitch surfaced on Youtube, where Iyin “E” Aboyeji shared the idea of the company at the Galvanise Campus in New York. It would seem that, the pitch was a test because, hours later, another video was published by VC Fintech, showing “E” presenting in front of potential investors. Do note that, this company has been in existence before this date, as it has been part of “The Venture Center” cohort since May, 2016.

The CEO who took over from him, Olugbenga Agboola, also made a pitch in a 1 minute video.
