Digital Entrepreneur, Leo Stan Ekeh, Set To Receive National award

Leo Stan Ekeh, Founder and Chairman of Zinox Group, is set to receive the National Productivity Order of Merit, (NPOM), an award from the Federal Government of Nigeria.

He was nominated, among other prominent Nigerians, as a recipient of this prestigious award.

The award is special recognition of Nigerians, who have demonstrated high-end productivity and excellence, in their various fields of endeavour.

President Muhammadu Buhari has given approval for the conferment of the award, which has been scheduled, for Thursday, November 28, 2019, at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, Kado, Abuja.

Ekeh, also, serves as the Chairman of Konga, an indigenous e-commerce platform, after Zinox bought 99% of Konga’s total company shares.

Ekeh started Zinox Technologies Limited in the early 2000’s, to produce computers, ensuring that, the company is, Windows Hardware Quality Labs, (WHQL), certified, before the computer production, thus, making Zinox, the first company to earn that certification, in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Zinox brand is, the first computer, to get an international certification OEM, (Original Equipment Manufacturer), in West Africa.

The company was, also, the first, to receive ISO 9001-2000, as the first ICT integration platform, in Nigeria.

Towards the end of 2013, Zinox announced that it has produced its computer tablets, called Zipad.

Along with a team of ICT technocrats, Zinox has gone ahead, to become one of the most innovative ICT platforms, on the continent.

As a serial digital entrepreneur, Ekeh has been, at the forefront of establishing technology companies, in the country.

Ekeh’s first venture was Task System Limited. This is, the first indigenous company to start computer graphics and desktop publishing.

Through the years, Task System Ltd has been outstanding, as it has bagged awards, such as, the Best Partner Award for Hewlett Packard, (HP) and Microsoft.

This company has, also, reshaped the publishing and advertising space, in the country and has helped some African countries to make changes, in their electoral processes, Guinea-Bissau, Gambia and Nigeria, are some of these countries.

During Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary on October 1, 2001, Leo Stan Ekeh was honoured, as an Icon of Hope, by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, for his outstanding efforts, in Information Technology in Nigeria.
