Bureau for Public Service Reforms (BPSR) has awarded the Nigerian Communications Commission as the best public sector organization in Nigeria.
According to BPSR, the award is the outcome of a sequence of validation assessments of NCC alongside all Federal public sector organisations in Nigeria.
The telecom regulator, in the assessment by BPSR scored 90 percent which was the highest compared to other public sector organisations in Nigeria.
Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, EVC of the NCC received the PLATINUM Level award on behalf of the Board and Management of NCC from Dr. Joe Abah, Director General of BPSR.
“NCC performance was rated as far exceeding expectations due to exceptional high quality of work in all essential areas of responsibility resulting in an overall quality of work that was found to be superior, exceptional and unique.
“We are pleased to forward this certificate to NCC” Dr. Abah said as he presented the award to Prof. Danbatta.
The BPSR was established in February 2004 as an independent self-accounting body to initiate, coordinate and ensure full implementation of Government reform policies and programmes.
